AI modernization for established businesses · Chicago

We do not sell AI — we make the AI you buy pay off. Learn to use it, budget it, and meter it, whoever your provider is. Audited in three hours, remote, inside the tools you already run.

What the sand is costing you

Buried costs, itemized.

None of these show up on a P&L line. All of them show up in the P&L.

ITEM 001

The quote that took three days

Your competitor answered the same request in an afternoon. Speed is now a pricing advantage, and most of the delay is drafting, not deciding.

Lost revenue
ITEM 002

The report someone builds by hand every week

Four hours of a capable person's week spent assembling numbers that a system could deliver, finished, every morning.

Burned payroll
ITEM 003

The knowledge walking out the door

Procedures, pricing logic, and customer history living in the heads of people close to retirement. AI is unusually good at capturing it while they are still on the floor.

Unwritten risk

The meter

AI is billed like a utility. So meter it.

Commercial AI is priced per unit of text processed. That means the cost of automating a workflow can be estimated up front and tracked to the dollar. Pick a workflow and see the arithmetic.

The model

Five ways in. No games on price.

Four of the five are priced on the page because that is how the whole engagement will feel. The full build is scoped to your operation, so it starts with a conversation. The whole path is spelled out below: what happens when you reach out.

Thirty minutes

The Consult

$89 thirty minutes, phone call
  • Bring your messiest workflow and every question you have been sitting on.
  • You leave with a straight answer: can AI take this, roughly what it costs to run, and what to build first.
  • Book the audit within 30 days and the $89 comes off the price.

Thirty minutes · Enterprise

The Enterprise Briefing

$500 thirty minutes, phone call
  • For teams about to sign — or already signed — an enterprise AI contract with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or Microsoft.
  • You leave knowing exactly what you committed to: token budgets, rate limits, data handling terms, and where the hidden costs live.
  • Includes a plain-English breakdown of your contract’s usage model and a recommended metering setup before you go live.

Three hours, remote

The Audit

$1,989 three hours, remote
  • Three focused hours on video with your people, walking the office side of the business end to end.
  • You get a written plan: where AI pays, what each workflow costs to run monthly, and what to skip.
  • If the honest answer is that AI is not worth it for you yet, the plan says so.

Standing service

The Tokenomics Dashboard

$2,500 build, then $200 a month upkeep
  • One dashboard reconciling every AI bill, contract, and metered token across your vendors and accounts — the money side, not another usage chart.
  • All known AI cash obligations, plus all obtainable usage, with every coverage gap quantified on the page instead of hidden. Numbers you can hand to your accountant.
  • The $200 covers the boring part done right: daily pulls, monthly statement captures, verified backups, and alerts before contracts renew or credits expire.

Forward Deployed Services

Embedded one to two months, then the keys
  • UnOstrich embeds with your team for one to two months, building inside your operation rather than consulting at it.
  • Workflows go live one at a time, tested before your business relies on them, with every dollar of AI usage metered and reported.
  • Then we hand over the keys: documentation, training, and systems your people run without us.

What happens when you reach out.

Four steps. You can stop after any of them, and the most common place to start costs $89.

01 Say hello

Email, call, or hit any button on this page. One line about your business and the workflow that annoys you most is plenty — no forms, no qualification questions. A person replies within one business day.

02 Get a straight answer

Thirty minutes on the phone. You describe the work; we tell you whether AI can take it, roughly what it would cost to run, and what to try first. If the honest answer is "keep your money," you hear exactly that — the $89 buys the answer, not a pitch.

03 See it on paper

The three hour audit turns the conversation into a written plan: which workflows pay, what each one costs per month to run, and what to skip. Numbers specific enough to argue with, which is the point of writing them down.

04 Build, meter, keep the keys

If a build makes sense — a workflow, a spend dashboard, a full embedded engagement — we work inside the tools you already run and meter every AI dollar. It ends with documentation, training, and your team running the system without us.

UnOstrich U

AI training for humans, one at a time.

A thirty minute working session on video: you bring your actual work, we set up the tools on your machine, and you leave using AI the way we do. Not a webinar. Not slides. Your screen, your files, your job.

  • Bring your real work — the inbox, the spreadsheet, the report that eats your week.
  • Leave with the tools set up, three working AI workflows, and the habits to keep going.

The Cohort

$750 per employee, one at a time
  • Every employee gets the same one on one session, scheduled around the work, not a conference room.
  • Each person trains on their own role — sales trains on sales, ops trains on ops.
  • You get a readout: who took to it, which workflows stuck, and where a build would pay.

How we work

Five rules. No exceptions.

01 Metering

Every workflow gets a cost estimate before it is built and a usage report after. You will always know what AI is costing you, per task, per month, to the dollar.

02 Model freedom

We make the model and vendor selection calls per task, and everything is built so the underlying AI provider can be swapped. Claude today, something else tomorrow if pricing or quality moves. You are never locked in.

03 Integration

We build inside what you already run: email, Excel, QuickBooks, your ERP, your practice management system. Nothing gets ripped out, and we have pulled clean data from systems with no modern connections at all.

04 Testing

AI output is verified before your business acts on it, and anything customer facing keeps a human review step. Automated work has to meet the same standard as human work.

05 Your data stays yours

Client and company information never trains public models. Where it matters, workflows can be set up so data stays entirely inside your walls.

Our credentials

Operators, not consultants.

No strategists with slide decks. UnOstrich is run by people who build and operate AI systems inside a regulated business every working day, with the receipts to prove it.

  • Built and run the AI systems inside a regulated Chicago insurance company: daily reporting assembled automatically, multi step operations handled end to end, with a testing layer on every output.
  • Give AI persistent company memory (operating docs, context, and playbooks) so assistants onboard like new hires and work as trained coworkers rather than one-off chatbots.
  • Managed billions of confidential litigation records at a global legal technology firm under strict security requirements.
  • Drove an 8 percent margin improvement in retail through transaction data analysis.
  • Extracted clean data from systems with no modern connections, including QuickBooks, which describes most ERPs in the wild.
The stack

Straight answers

The questions everyone asks.

We are not a tech company. Does this still apply?
Good, because neither are our clients. Everything is built inside email, Excel, and the systems you already run, and your team is trained as we go. Nobody at your company needs to understand AI for AI to work at your company. That is the entire point of hiring us.
Is our data safe?
Your information never trains public models, and where confidentiality is critical we set up workflows that keep data entirely inside your walls. We have spent years managing billions of confidential legal records under strict security requirements, so this standard is not new to us.
Why not just have someone on staff use ChatGPT?
Someone should. But a chatbot is a tool and an operation is a system. The difference is integration with your actual data, persistent memory of how your business runs, testing before the business relies on output, and cost control across hundreds of runs a day. A chatbot starts every conversation as a stranger; a system we build starts as a trained coworker. A person typing into a chat window gets you five percent of the value and none of the reliability.
What does the AI itself actually cost?
It is metered, priced per unit of text processed. A drafted email costs about a penny, a summarized document a few cents, an assembled report under a dollar. Most client workflows run tens of dollars a month. We estimate the cost before building anything and report actual usage every month.
What if AI is not actually worth it for us?
Then the plan will say exactly that, in writing, and you will have spent $1,989 to avoid spending fifty times more on the wrong thing. If you want the cheapest possible test first, that is what the $89 half hour is for, and it comes off the audit price if you book within 30 days. Part of the job is telling you what not to automate.
What happens after I book?
You get a payment receipt from Stripe right away and a reply from us within one business day to pin down the time. There is nothing to prepare — the one line you already wrote about your business is genuinely enough, though having a real example of the annoying workflow open on your screen makes the session better. Rescheduling is free with 24 hours notice, and if we ever have to cancel without a reasonable alternative, you get a full refund. The details live in the Terms.
